The image date on your zoom-in may indeed say 2008, but the whole "sky" image is a collection of various snapshots over a wide period of time, all woven together. I went to your coordinates on 12/17/11 and the "ships" are not there. Have they been removed by Google or just a newer image posted whereby the "ships" have since moved on? You may also consider a single object moving across a trajectory and the telescope was snapping pictures of that region in intervals.
