I don't know what compression utility you used to compile these clips, but I watched the same ones on YouTube and 'there' (original) you can actually 'HEAR' the sounds. With this video, the 'sounds' are barely audible above the normal background. This removes the very thing that you are trying to present with your post. I am concerned with these noises as well and am currently studying the frequencies embedded in them. Sounds from the more credible sources have two distinguishing properties: ultra high and ultra low frequencies. Even when it appears that the sound covers the entire spectrum (so to speak), sonography reveals the two extremes. An analogy would be a large sheet of metal, dragged over concrete on its edge; the high z is produced by the contact friction, while the low z is made from the steel plate vibrating like a bass drum.

This reminds me of Red State. It could be people ripping off that idea. Of course, last year at this time there were birds falling out of the sky. Maybe every January we will have some new unexplainable, global, paranormal event. I know the Auroras make noises, but that doesn't cover a lot of the filmed locations and I've never heard them make THOSE noises.

with leaves on the trees, obviously from another clip at another time of year, it does seem to discredit the entire thing.

This is a compilation, and appears that some is not from January, as has already been noted, in Alberta, with green leaves on the trees. Yeah, not too credible, and it takes away from what may otherwise be quite real. I've seen other videos on YT, and have heard the noises here in Michigan. Sounds like a fighter jet from the basement, and when immediately stepping outside, nothing. My wife was awakened one night by a plow truck... except there wasn't any snow on the ground at that time. Unusual in January in Michigan, but the noise she heard soulded like a plow truck. She also works in the tallest building in Kalamazoo, which is 22 stories LOL, and today, heard and felt something like a low rumbling. I do not believe all of these are faked, but by including a segment that is in Montreal,

Doesn't sound like heaven to me - 'Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun'. You're going to be doing 12 to 18hr days of labour for eternity, sounds like hell.Religion is a great way to explain the unexplained. It's what got us through the hard times in our history. It'll find it's use with many out there in the future, no doubt. I won't bad-mouth your faith, to each his/her own.

Since it's being heard worldwide, and emanates from the Earth this 'could' be some sort of seismic oscillation of the upper crust of Earth (lithosphere) caused by several severe earthquakes in 2011. Just a theory. I feel if people start freaking out with all sorts of fearful ideas as to what it is related to then I can see why extra-terrestrials keep their distance from us. :)

No doubt a fake as many of the same sound effects were used in the Spielberg re-make of War of the Worlds. Unfortunately the Montreal Canada segment in January with green leaves on the trees is also quite discrediting. Although a definite ID10t posting by a fool, if it were real, maybe not HAARP as one comment suggested but could be more so related to Project Blue Beam and the oncoming false return of Jesus and fake alien invasion that is scheduled to be presented to the world by certain governments staging the New World Order. That could happen some time in 2012 or soon after.
