    Venus and Jupiter are visible and bright at the moment.

    I seriously wonder how these lights, they appear to be emitting actual light, can be simply stars as they shine far brighter than any star I have ever seen and I was in the middle of the Lybian desert for many months where the air is pristine without any city street lights to difuse the starlight. Never seen anything as bright as these lights and they are there tonight and against the darkness they appear V shaped and slightly yellow. Also where is the moon? It should be at half moon phase but not in my sky.

    17 / 1 /2012 and 17:10 it is NOW quite dark and the stars started to come out at 16:45 these are always the one or two I see but if one looks closely there are more. I am in Yorkshire, so not too far from where you are.I would, without being there say initially, STARS. However if you saw them move they might be something else.Don't be discouraged though there are plenty of fast moving object in the sky that aren't identified as conventional aircraft.I have witnessed two UFO's on different occasions being chased and 'BLASTED', that is, a massive explosion. Both in the same place in the sky. Looking towards the S-SW at about a 75 degree angle.Namaste, rev;
