Look to the left of the sun(witch is behind the cloud)and you will see a second sun. Im 100% sure its not a sundog!

Truthsekr76...i don't need to prove a thing. I will simply wait for the event at the so called appointed time, which according to sources "in the know" should be visible to the naked eye in the first quarter of 2009. Let's see what happens.

Well a sun dog is actually visible in the sky and not the result of the lens. It's an atmospheric phenomenon caused by ice crystals. They usually look less uniform in shape to flares.info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_dog

Agree, a general rule of thumb I find for determining lens flare is to draw a straight line from the centre of the brightest light source to the centre of the anomoly and if that line intersects the centre of the picture/lens directly or by extension then it's probably a lens flare.
