For thirteen months from November 15, 1966 to December 15, 1967, the town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia was gripped by a real-life nightmare that culminated in a tragedy that made headlines around the world. Strange occurrences and sightings, including a bizarre winged apparition that became known as the Mothman, trouble this ordinary American community. Mysterious lights were seen moving across the sky. Domestic animals were found slaughtered and mutilated. Journalist John A. Keel arrived on the scene to investigate the freakish events and soon found himself to be an integral part of an eerie and unfathomable mystery. The Mothman Prophecies is now a major motion picture starring Richard Gere.
