why would they not have documented this incredible achievement in a more thorough fashion?

i am not ruling it out...but it does raise some important questions.

They did keep records. The time in question was well-documented and the Chinese have only recently made the records available.

The writer based most of his case on these writings, he just went off the deep end with his own suppositions.

i personally think that many nations have circumnavigated the globe, in many different time periods......but leave it to the arrogance of ancient Europe to claim...discovery of the new world.
