GEOMAGNETIC STORM--MORE TO COME? The solar storm of August 1st sent two CMEs toward Earth. The first one arrived yesterday, August 3rd, sparking mild but beautiful Northern Lights over Europe and North America (see below). The second CME is still en route. NOAA forecasters estimate a 35% chance of major geomagnetic storms when the cloud arrives on August 4th or 5th. High-latitude sky watchers should remain alert for auroras.

COMPLEX ERUPTION ON THE SUN: On August 1st, the entire Earth-facing side of the sun erupted in a tumult of activity. There was a C3-class solar flare, a solar tsunami, multiple filaments of magnetism lifting off the stellar surface, large-scale shaking of the solar corona, radio bursts, a coronal mass ejection and more. The bigger problem here is that it is coinciding with the exponential weakening
of magnetosphere which happens on intervals of 300000 to 1500000 y......
And that combination of events my friends could just wipe out our atmosphere,at least part of it(Which just happened before in here and almost completely on mars)!!
Just imagine a huge flux of heavy radiation hiting us without our magnetic shield!?!?

Earth's magnetic field is still reverberating from the CME impact of August 3rd, which sparked auroras as far south as Wisconsin and Iowa in the United States. Analysts believe a second CME is right behind it, due to arrive on August 5th. A second impact could re-energize the fading geomagnetic storm.

Solar Tsunami Strikes Earth

A solar tsunami that hit Earth Tuesday night is now providing a spectacular light show today. According to Nasa, a portion of the sun had exploded on Sunday and sent out a solar flare, or a cloud of charged particles, racing towards earth. That solar storm has slammed into Earth's magnetic field, causing an electromagnetic storm. The resulting light show, described by Nasa as "rippling dancing curtains of green and red light", is only visible to those in the northern part of the U.S., Europe and Russia. Scientists say this indicates that the sun is waking up and heading toward another solar maximum expected in 2013. The previous one was in 2001.

I'm just kidding, good info here slush.

There are massive changes happening in our solar system. Our sun is going crazy, Jupiter's belts and spots are changing, who the hell knows what just happened to Venus. Then here on earth, just look at the weather and natural disasters we have been having.
