I know drabbit.. ive been watching the usgs site and almost every 3 minutes there is a new eq of low mag; I dont know if the tension is slowly releasing by small mag eqs and a bigger eq could be avoided or it may come anyway

I wonder how big the rupture was, if the activity begins to increase north of the epicenter the last linge could snap, and it's over 300 years old. If it snaps it could shift the west side of the fault northward by hundreds of feet. Well thats what I heard on the history and discovery channels anyway.

My bets are the big one has already happened. I think after the mid 1990's they have prepared buildings just incase it could happen again. Only one person died from that earthquake, and mind you that was quite amazing indeed.
