***UPDATE***

Here is something ~everyone~ should know about comets and solar weather.
I just stumbled across this, and as such felt that you guys might be able to propagate this outwards...this is *something no one has discussed* here or really on most other sites either down playing comet Elenin or over-hyping comet Elenin.

You should read the below segment, read the link, and do your own research:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Comet Tail Disconnection Event
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disconnection_event
the ion tail loading is sufficient, then the magnetic field lines are squeezed together to the point where, at some distance along the ion tail, magnetic reconnection occurs. This leads to a "tail disconnection event".[4] This has been observed on a number of occasions, notable among which was on the 20th. April 2007 when the ion tail of comet Encke was completely severed as the comet passed through a coronal mass ejection.[9] This event was observed by the STEREO spacecraft.[10] A disconnection event was also seen with C/2009 R1 (McNaught) on May 26, 2010.[11]

Comets were found to emit X-rays in 1996.[12] This surprised researchers, because X-ray emission is usually associated with very high-temperature bodies. The X-rays are thought to be generated by the interaction between comets and the solar wind: when highly charged ions fly through a cometary atmosphere, they collide with cometary atoms and molecules, "ripping of" one or more electrons from the comet. This ripping off leads to the emission of X-rays and far ultraviolet photons.[13]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is an explanation on what I was thinking was going to be the only slim chance of something happening from comet Elenin. I have been looking over research papers and data regarding comets, hydrogen cyanide, electromagnetic capacitance and discharges, as well as various other possibilities...then I found the "Tail Disconnection Event"...and realized that not only has there been ***ZERO*** discussion on this...but this is something they have recorded from SOHO and various other satellites. They proved this whole scenario in 2007 from another comet (above wiki reference contains the research done and links that explain the energy levels).

Here is the timeline for the solar weather. We must now include the newly emerging sunspot in this mix as it just launched an X1.4 class flare. We must also include the **High speed coronal hole stream** that will be in alignment with the Earth and 2010X1 during the **transition** period (26th-28th).

This is not BS...is a *REAL* possibility...and is only a matter of the odds as to whether the HSCHS or any CME produced from 1301 from now until the 25th and any CME produced from the newly emerging sunspot between the 24th and 26th.

This is not something that I believe has more than a ~30% chance of happening.
This **IS** something that *CAN* happen and *WOULD* create abnormally high levels of both XRay and UV radiation that would only amplify the solar weather as well as potentially invoke other atmospheric and electromagnetic issues.

Just be aware...not trying to freak folks out...but this *IS* something to keep an eye on...

If I see any activity from the Sun that looks like it could cause a tail disconnection event I will post it in this thread as soon as possible.

Again...the Sun guys...it is all about the Sun right now... keep an eye on it (monitoring not looking directly at).
:sunny:

Cheers,

-CN

Isn't the sun entering a slow down period ?

:flop: :flop: this is also my believe, it is the sun that controls life on earth if you wane give something the name god well the sun is father god. And it goes bananas at this moment , also explain all the earthquakes at the moment ... didn't knew about disconnection thing , thx for the enlightenment. And very interesting days that will follow at the moment ! good post :flop: :flop: :flop:

This is *after* the solar maximum... yes...it always slows down *AFTER* the solar maximum... that would be starting July 17th 2013...

We use sunspot activity as a sign of a Sun's "current activity and status"... so looking at the sunspot activity history:
Spotless Days
Current Stretch: 0 days
2011 total: 2 days (<1%)
2010 total: 51 days (14%)
2009 total: 260 days (71%)
Since 2004: 821 days

In 2011 we had 2 days with no sunspots...only 2 so far...
In 2010 we had 51 days with no sunspots...
In 2009 we had a total of 260 days with no sunspots...

So...yes...once the *solar maximum* (which starts around July 17th 2012 and ends around July 17th 2013) is over...it will then reduce in the same relative amounts that you see above (inverted) for about a decade...and then we are off to the solar minimum portion of this cycle and will continue to have reduced sunspot activity (over all) for the next 11,000 years (2012 is the marker of the end of the 11,000 year solar system cycle which every 11 years the sun goes through a "max and min"...2012 is the "maximum solar max cycle point"... from that point forward we then drop off our solar cycle activity every 11 years for several thousand years...and then in about 11,000 years from 2012...will be another "maximum solar max").

So that article is a little misleading... but yeah...in less than 2 years it will start reducing its activity every 11 year cycle.

There are some speculations right now...
However:
http://www.disclose.tv/forum/world-leaders-will-be-in-recess-during-elenin-alignment-t59447.html
This post is showing world leaders to be in "recess" this weekend...right around when the TDE (Tail Disconnection Event) could potentially occur...

Dunno...this is getting a little "too coincidental" at this point...

I can't speak for other nations, but the recess in Britain happens every year.
Most bicameral systems of government have up to 4 annual recesses a year, ranging from a few weeks to a few months.
