I just got back from the theatre, and I thought the movie was great. Awesome special effects, and I thought the storyline was pretty good too (some cheese).

Sticking with the OP, I also thought that there were aliens involved in this movie. I even thought that I saw them in a trailer saving humanity with their ships. Must have been a different movie...

Well, I probably will be a minority here, but I didn't really like the movie. The effects partially were ok, but mostly I felt like I am watching a video game as it all was computer animation poorly incorporated into the movie (building collapsing etc).
To me the best part of the movie was when the russian guy started the Bentley engine.. lol
And also this "It is a big plane".. "It's Russian!" - I thought it was funny.
The acting was bad. This movie doesn't even come close to "The indepedence Day", which was very well done.
But it will ride on the 2012 hype and make alot of money.

I really loved the movie........

But I think it is one of those that needs to be seen on the big screen to fully appreciate it!

I sat through the entire 2hrs38 minutes without needing a cig break!
