I think most people have taken this date and ran a little to far with it. But the fact still remains and the question unanswered. How did the mayans know that all the planets with ours and the sun. That they will be aligned in a straight line. How did they know this. The theories spawned from this true fact that can't be explained. The conspiracy of the end of the world is the misdirection, missing the point.

Just tell me how they knew this with the tech they had.
