Because of this 80 % of our dna was declared junk.
When you learn something like speed reading, or get rid of limiting patterns, you start thinking in a parallel way, start using your right brain.

Elements of our DNA that do not directly code for proteins still have a purpose.

So if you are suggesting that we are only using a minimum of our brain, could one then physically remove that 80% of our brains, and still function normally?

No, that's not what I'm suggesting.
Our culture / education is left brain based, that's where we already loose a big part.
Then what do we learn? We learn what others thought of, we copy that, we learn how to behave ourselves and so on. These are all patterns formed in our brain.
Now, when there is an input, we start comparing that with our patterns, and when we find a match we will follow the matching pattern. It's very inefficient.

When 'you' get rid of the patterns, the quality of your thinking and the speed of your thinking will increase drastically, you can compare this with parallel processing.
When you start using our right brain, you get access to an infinite realm.
Bring these into balance and you can think from your heart (the heart has also brain cells, but they are not 'dual' unlike the right and left brain)

I agree with you there. Altering the way you think from the "norm" can be much more efficient.
It has more to do with how the brain is utilized, not how much of it in total, though. :)

Maybe it's a matter of perspective.
The physical brain works all the time, we can see, to put it simple, parts of it light up when they are in use, but we suppress the majority of signals that come from the right brain and we severely polluted the left brain.

Then there is the 'power' supply, we use a 12V system so to speak, originally designed for 10,000V, that's why you can find references to the shiny ones, or enlightened ones.
Science (mainstream) hasn't arrived here yet, but that's a matter of time.
