EDIT: Dude probably thought the uniformed personnel were going to stop him before he could kill the work staff. Saw them as a priority threat and killed them first.

Sorry but I spent 6 years in the National Guard. They do not carry weapons. This was an assassination.

Your experience in the armed forces is good and you seem very knowledgeable, and I thank you for serving.

I would just like to say that if someone did not have full mental capacity for thinking beyond what they see on tv/movie/pictures. They would automatically assume that a uniformed person is carrying a weapon. And if they had just a few more brain cells to look past what the media shovels down throats, the only other thought would be that military personnel are trained to combat enemies hand to hand. This guy was under mind control, or just stupid. And yes, mind control could be classified as "be ordered to kill people".
