This is my personal Ghost story.

When I was about 13 years old, we moved into a very old house.
It had been renovated a couple of times and when you entered,
you could almost feel the emotional residue of past tenants.
Some parts of the house were very damp while others had a
contrastingly dry atmosphere.

There was a large garden & a river that ran through the backyard.
Old horse stables took most of the frontyard's space & next to them was the
landlord's house. He was an odd cheap little bastard of noble descent
who burned his trash in his house & made our garden smell
like burned plastic at least once a weak.

The first years things were pretty normal. Until I started getting
nightmares. They were of the worst kind & I rarely ever have them
now with the same intensity or themes of pure terror.
I regulary woke up in the middle of the night, scared shitless &
often soaked in sweat. I didn't dare to move when I woke & had the feeling
that if I did, I would die or something in the room would take notice of me.
I can't recount how many times I was litterally paralyzed with fear.

These dreams did not increase in intensity as time went by.
They were always insanely scary & just popped up out of nowhere.
Some of them I can still partly recall, others have vanished from memory.

Right above my room, there was an attic with no isolation & at night
I could hear the roof tiles howl if the wind allowed it. Next to the
attic was my brothers room, which will become important further on in the story.
From time to time I could hear someone move about in the attic above, it sounded like
somebody tied towels around heavy shoes & walked about. It was a muffled sound,
which was odd because the top floor was made from old wood. I always
thought it was my brother until one night the footsteps returned.
I knew he wasn't home at the time & my mother and sister were sound asleep.
Scared & boiling over with curiousity I went upstairs to see if someone was pulling my leg,
but the top floor was empty.

These mildy disturbing incidents carried on for some time & I think it wasn't until
one beautiful morning I was lying in the bathtub that I felt things started
escalating.

While I was lying there I had the feeling something got a hold of me.
It felt like somebody pulled a cool blanket over me & all
I could think about was GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE OR DIE.
Needless to say, a full 6 seconds later I was 2 floors down,
standing buttnaked in the kitchen & trying to relate to my mother what happened.

One night, we came back from a family visit. When we came to the house,
all the doors & windows were wide open. All the lights were on, the tv, the computer (
we only had one), pretty much everything that was plugged into the walls was turned on.
We were all pretty freaked out but I had the feeling that there was nothing there.
The pressing atmosphere accompanied by weird happenings was not present.
Whatever it was, it was gone. For the time being.

The nightmares, footsteps, feelings of a presence continued for months.
I grew more and more uneasy and felt the whole thing was set up like a feedback loop.
The more energy I put into it the more, whatever it was, gained energy.
Can you imagine the frustration being confronted with something you feel insanely
curious about while constantly being aware that you shouldn't be too nosey because
"something" might happen and you won't like it.

One night I went to bed early and after lying there for some time I noticed
bright white flashes coming from outside my window.
I was curious because I didn'thear any thunder and thougth it must have been my brother,
trying out the flash on his camera (I should've known he didn't have one).

I went to my window to try & see the where the flashes came from. They appeared to be
directly above the house so I went to my brother's room to catch a glimpse of what was going on.
When I put my head out his window, I still didn't see anything.
The source of the bright flashes appeared to come from the other side of the roof.
When I went to the other side of the house the source appeared to come from the other side.
This struck a nerve & now I was getting a tad bit scared so I decided to go downstairs and find my family.

When I left them there about an hour earlier, they were watching tv downstairs & the fireplace was burning.
I entered the living room & the lights were off, the tv was off, the fireplace didn't even smolder & my family was gone.
In my naivité I thought they were all in on it so I went to look for them. After going through the entire house,
I went back to the living room & they were all there, sleeping while the tv & lights were on and the fire was burning softly.

I remember little of what happened after this. I know I asked them if they were all here for the entire time and they
replied yes but after that my memory fades.. To this day I have no clue what really happened.
At the time, I didn't drink, didn't do any drugs & did not take any pills. I have no mental conditions, nor does anyone
in my family.

Eventually, we moved out. The last time I stood in that kitchen, I said goodbye in my mind to whatever it was. And explained the reason of us moving out, which had nothing to do with the "entity". ( I had taken up the habit of talking to "it" to calm myself in times of need, and it seemed to work fine. )
Suddenly, I felt a great sadness & after that a mad rage coming from outside myself.
This was the last thing I felt in that house & got away as fast as I could.
I never went back there & do not intend to.

Thank you for reading my story. I'm not a writer by trade but I did my best
This is non-fiction & it really happened.

memories fade but some things stick with you. i was 6 0r 7 living in a 3 /4 hundred year old house. i had been bad. my dad was angry so i hid out with my mum in the kitchen. i started smelling smoke and when i looked round there was this little old guy in the corner with a pipe but i could see through him. i was 6 i freaked out dad did not believe me. mum did.
many years later i asked my mum about it and she said she had often smelled pipe smoke in that house especially around the kitchen.

that was the first time i freaked out in that house . the second time was something i believe to be far more dangerous.

Tjahzi spooky :ghost:

What do you think it was and did it feed from your energy or did you share energy?

You summed it up nicely. That has been my conclusion, after almost 40 years of personal experience.

Thanks for sharing your story, it was interesting to read!

Wow, I never seen anything like that.

What was the second time?
