ok let it be clear i'm not crazy.....and i only watch the moon once in a great while hence what i saw tonight didn't make any sense to me.

ok my question when the moon is just rising is it possible for it to be a different shape then when it's high in the sky?

tonight at 10:40 pm i saw the moon came up....it's a nice and orange ish as it just a bit up off the horizon and it was round and i thought oh nice a full moon today so i sat and stare at it for about 10 minutes, went inside later well just now 2 am i thought i'd peek at the moon alittle more before i go to bed cause i love full moon.....but just now i realize it's not even close to full...it's missing 1/4?...i am perplexed....i don't think it's possible i could mistake a full moon....unless when it's just rising it looks round for a while before changing....

The actual full moon was on the 9th, Thursday....now it is in the Waning phase which means it's basically in essence erasing from our view in the sky, it does it little by little. I'm sure there is a more technical explanation but that is an ok, simplified one :D

I think illusion is in anything we stare at too long or depending on when we look at anything that moves.....
