Hey :flop:
Right,i like to do alot of sports,i tend to take recovery drinks/shakes,obviously i avoid all the artificial ingredients.
Well recently i was given a sample of an all natural protein mix.
My question is...Is ASPARTIC ACID and GLUTAMIC ACID the same as/worse as their artificial equivalents of aspartame and MSG :?:
These are naturally occuring amino's right :?:

Found this:
Aspartic acid is required for
It is of paramount importance in the metabolism during construction of other amino acids and biochemicals in the citric acid cycle. Among the biochemicals that are synthesized from aspartic acid are asparagine, arginine, lysine, methionine, threonine, isoleucine, and several nucleotides.

It is needed for stamina, brain and neural health and assists the liver by removing excess ammonia and other toxins from the bloodstream. It is also very important in the functioning of RNA, DNA, as well as the production of immunoglobulin and antibody synthesis.

Deficiency of aspartic acid
Symptoms may include fatigue and depression.

More thoughts much app,i have an "all natural" protein shake and of all the aminos in it glutamic acid and aspartic acid have the higesat values by far :?: why :?: Should i be worried..

It never ceases to amaze me how many different uses for hemp.
How diverse can one plant be?

Yeah m8,you do the research and you see that the hemp plant could literally be used for saving the world.I have never smoked cannabis but outwith that aspect of the plant it has hundreds of uses... :flop:
Probably why "they" are so insistent that the plant be made illegal, which is ludicrous in my opinion. :headscratch:

Two different plants, both with amazing properties, I can't really understand the reasons behind the out right demonizing of them. Forget cannabis for now and think of the old growth forests cut down each year, etc. most of which could have been saved over and again. I am just appalled by the ignorance, and refusal to even budge on HEMP. It does not make sense.

The above information is definately correct... aspartic acid is what it says it is. The thing that really sticks out like a sore thumb for me is: AsparTAME would be an accurate description for a product that would neutralize, or even destroy the effectiveness of this amino acid. If you read its benifits, then imagine them 'tamed' .. it seems to point towards the afformentioned neurotoxin.

just a thought.

DrJones as far as Im aware Aspartic Acid & Glutamate acid are both non-essential amino acids, which means that the body is able to manufacture its own supply. Your associating them with Aspartame because BOTH are in LARGE amounts in Aspartame in their ‘processed' form, if they haven’t been processed they shouldn't cause a problem in 'sensible' amount. Hope that helps a little :flop:
