First off I would like tyo say I'm addicted to marijuana, tobbacco and alcohol.

I totally understand it all boils down to a yes or no solution but when it comes time to make an effort in quiting, the insecurety of faceing life kicks in.

Life for me is slow pace and I feel I am not challenged enough...The first thing anybody will say to a person in this situation is..."life is what you make it and if you want something you have to go out and get it"...Which I think is total bullshit because life is like a monopoly game that you don't get to play until every property is already owned.

I need to man up and at least cut down so I can pass 4th year electrical and become a J-Man and figure out what I am going to do with the rest of my life.

It is the ultimate test in my life. I feel that if I can pass the term first time around I will not have any worries for the rest of my life. I know I can do it if I make a comitment and focus for the 3 month term but I have not proved to myself yet that I am truly capable of sucseeding.

I think life is all about overcoming these little challenges and comming out stronger...I just hope that a happy ending is in store!

Wish me luck.

P.S. I start in march

Back a few years ago I was addicted to tobacco chew for 3 years. What got me to stop was Googlein' some pics of mouth rot (oral cancer).

New Earthman I wish you good luck man

but I have to say its not all about luck....you got to be strong, I think the weed will be the most hard...as you can smoke it all day long and its always nice.....alcohol is shit I dont like it very much, I know a lot of persons who died of that shit...accidents,diseases related to it....

when I wake up in the morning I really cant drink a beer or somethig other, but a little joint is always nice....and thats hard...try to stop smoking during the day....you will see that your first evening-joint is the best. The weed kills the motivation...

not trying to play the angel, I have days in my life that I start smoking weed in the morning...but other days I wil only smoke until I hve taken care of my stuff and done all my things...and then you came home, have a nice little dinner, some music and then a nice weed joint....thats the best I think...and then dtv! :D

Keep your head up man, if you believe in yourself everything will be ok...

some good advice form zetgel there man, daytime smoking is a sure fire way to fuck up any plans you may have for your life. Set yourself a time where you can have a smoke and then limit how much you smoke per night. You will find it rewarding when you stick to rules you make for yourself. :flop:

Good luck man and keep us posted up on your progress.

I too have a few addictions....cigs for the most part, weed part time, and hide the whiskey!
I think the physical dependence side of cigs and weed only last for a few days...after that its all in your head.
Nicotine..... is out of your system in 3 days
THC..... takes a bit longer cause THC residue is stored in fat cells, so try to exercise a bit and burn a little fat off the edges.

In any case...just try to stay busy doing stuff....go hiking, camping, fishing...get out into nature and meditate.

You obviously don't live in Scotland, not the time for camping right now i can tell you...Its fucking freezing! Good advice though, staying busy is the key, not the easiest thing when you just want to stay cosy in the house through the winter months. Am sure you will be able to find some focus to see you through :flop:

Peace

Great advice from all !!!
First step is to cut out the morning and afternoon joint and just stick to one at night.
Right now is tough to stop that routine cause I'm not working and have too much time on my hands but I will hopfully be called out from the union for a job for a few months before I go to school...I need money pretty bad right now as well, which is another reason to kick the habbits.
I've planned to get serious for a long tome but things havent changed for so long that I am scared of being trully sober...and "walking without a cruch". Time will tell, until then I will just keep livin...

Best advice has been given by electrobadgr, Lowsix and others already - im the same, stay in scotland which is already a motivation killer due to weather alone lol so for a lazy ass like me that cosumes weed in serious amounts i totally share your concern, i work as a Fibre optic test tech, then come to code PhP/MySql/Css/Html  lol every night actually have done past few years, long story short during the day at work i dont smoke it no more as i just want to sleep or hide and not face anyone which in my current job is just not an option, Now i go to work and do my job come home and code then like Lowsix and others mention sit down to a nice big fat green j and the cycle continues lol - Seriously though weed is awesome for making you think and for opening your mind pity it kills motivation and makes you lazy but that wont ever stop me smoking that wonderful natural herb i dont think - sorry for the ramble im stoned :)

Oh feck forgot to say why i posted - If your internet savvy and can handle coding then that is one excellent way of keeping your mind very sharp :flop:
