Your missing the point, the fact that they see themselves as middle class and different is what they accuse the elite of, what they are worried about is themselves and people like them not everyone.
That is the difference between them and people who just care about people, they attack the yuppies they attack the unemployed but never and i mean never lay the door at themselves when they are the very people that are civil servants, they thought they were policemen of standards and the lower masses were the problem, it was the middles classes who started eugenics because the thought the uneducated and poor were not worthy to have offspring.

They now have woken up and see that they are the target always were and always will be, you see they detest the upper class as much as they do the lower class, where the ruling class and the working class have always had a working bond.

I forgot to add the elite and upper class detest the middle class for thinking they are better than what they are and their illusion that it is them that pay for everything and without the middle class we would have nothing.
