Hmmm. With most of the armed forces deployed elsewhere there wouldn't be much of a military response would there?

But how do you convince other countries to do that? Send troops here that is? Putting your troops on american soil if the people of the US haven't agreed to it.............will get your army's ass kicked easily. We are a nation built from rebellion. Even dictatorships can't rid themselves of armed rebels so no country is going to send troops here because Iraq wouldn't be shit compared to what they would go through here.

to be honest I think this is more western media hype then anything else. It does not matter who is president of Iran, like it does not matter who is president of America. They are still controlled by higher people. The opponent was obviously back up by the CIA or something, and the western media tried to play him up like the next Obama in Iran. Then Obama when and gave a speech right before the elections in the area, I dont think this was coincidence. This is all the looks of a big PSY-OP being pushed out through the media, as normal standard procedure...

Of course we would back a candidate that we felt had America's best interests at heart. Thats not conspiratory, thats logical (ask Spock). We have, will, and should ALWAYS back potential leaders and regimes that are beneficial to a more peaceful world or at least a better relationship between that country and ourselves. The last leader was/is ready to nuke us, the new leader wants peace.... WHY WOULDN'T WE BACK THE NEW LEADER!!!!!!!!!!! :bang;

Considering Obama has been at odds with Israel because he won't back any of their plans to attack Iran............I think its safe to say we are not trying to go to war with them at the moment.............but moments change it just hasn't gotten there yet.

I don't think the people could do shit in Iran, like any country it has a single ruler, and as such if it needs to be it will become a monarchy if it's power is contested.

Obviously it would be good for America's Army if Iran had an uprising since they want to attack them.

I agree with Drextin that our army is worn out bad. And I think our forces think a shift to more robotic forces can and might solve this, but honestly I think it is only a matter of time before thee is a serious counter to all these drones and that would cripple America's forces.

We are heavy relied upon satellites for war, and we have spent a lot of $$ on the most expensive big war projects over the last years. When it is proven that cheap, easily produced equipment is what wins wars. Like the russian Rkg-3.

Also the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are not against major military forces. Russia and China have some seriously tough troops. Russians soldiers can be killed in training, and they are 'fresh' for a war. I think our forces would crumble in a major war with these countries. And I think that russia and china 1st moves will be to take out all american satalites.

The next war is beyond what any military person can imagine. And as in history's past we will fight "the-last-war" mentality and this leave a lot of room for error and miscalculations like when Napoleon's armies first started attacking with their new tactics.
