Wouldnt know.. What I do know is that I loved this three part series. Couldnt stop watching. His efforts, emotions, experiences.. finally, the contrast when 'Ed' was back in 'civilisation', a shabby hotel room. He seemed more lost than at any time during his soletude in the wild..

Yes, this was on last year. He couldn't take it any longer so he called in for a pick up.
It was pretty good. I always watch shows like this.
I think he did pretty good for someone who isn't a trained survivalist.
His crying was a little annoying though. They could have left that part out.

I think I could.
I practice and study this stuff. Bushcraft / Primitive living, whatever you wanna call it.
It's a hobby of mine. Has been for a lot of years now.

I agree though, he was without his family for a long time, and I couldn't do it without my son. I just can't be without him that long. That's the only thing that would be stopping me. The actual wilderness living part of it would be easier to me than for him though. Like I said, I been practicing this stuff for years.
And yes, you need practice. You can't just pick up two sticks for the first time and make fire. Or any other stuff you would need to do without modern conveniences.

Ofcourse, without practice youre nowhere.. This is knowledge one cannot get from a book alone. theory is nice, but knowing how to put it in practice is essential. The real trial, in this case, is his solitude. Im not one to need people around me, evenmore, I need people to not be around me a lot of the time. Find them irritating 90% of the time. This is something completely different though, than having to survive on your own for 50 days straight. Nobody to talk to but the [human] projections / memories in your mind. Tough mofo that can do 50 days on his own without having any psychological backlash..
