An illegal front-yard kitchen garden

This is Josée Landry and Michel Beauchamp's front yard kitchen garden in Drummondville, Quebec. The cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchinis, beets, onions, and brussels sprouts and other vegetables grown by the couple helped Beauchamp lose 75 pounds, and Landry 25.

Illegal because of the town code of Drummondville, Quebec

Beauchamp said no one has complained to him. He said he shares his fresh produce with his neighbours.
CBC also notes that the city plans to make all front lawn vegetable gardens illegal this fall.
"They love it. Everybody is surprised by the kind of taste we can have from fresh vegetables," he said.

The couple said they have no intention of complying with the city's request.

authorities insist must be removed. The town code states that a vegetable garden can take up 30 percent of a front yard at most, and Landry and Beauchamp's is in violation. They were given two weeks to comply.

I believe that there is no lawful requirement for you to only have 30% of property you own to only be used for growing of food. They should tell them to go fuck themselves... politely of course

The only place we wouldn't be able to do it would be the little strip in front of the sidewalk.

That part belongs to the city, but we have to mow it and take care of it.

(Not my house, but this is what I'm talking about) The strip between the street and sidewalk.

i have my front yard kitchen garden for 5 years almost, and to take it off... well, i would feel like to put my dog to sleep forever because the colors black and white are illegal for dogs in this town :bang;

and my camera skills are horrible i now, working on it.
