It's quite normal for hoofed mammals to "snack" on grounded and ground nesting birds, bit of extra protein and calcium without a lot of hard work. Calcium is very important for deer antlers,on some of the Scottish islands the deer will just chew off the legs of birds,nice little bones full of calcium.No one said nature is nice.
