it does seem strange that every time a story like this comes out,it's only after the documents have mysteriously disappeared.

nobody made a fucking back-up file or copied it.
that's the first thing i do when i find something 'big'
and i'm no michia kaku.....i'm just a scrub.

The only time when this scenario makes sense (disappearing documents with no back up) is when the documents never existed in the first place.....
I double and triple up on any fricckin thing, and I'm just a regular dude.
You would think a scientist that makes a life changing discovery would make sure he has a few back ups....
