They didnt have the internet to chat with to gain info from, they as the most part got the news from the churches or a week old paper of weeks old news and had never had another way of thinking shown to them. Can you fault these people seriously.

must have been harder to inform yourself than now, but we are also misinformed a lot more to counterbalance that.
