The idea that the seeds of life are ubiquitous throughout the cosmos goes back to Anaxagoras, a Greek philosopher. In the 1800s, French chemist Louis Pasteur proposed that spontaneous generation of life could not have occurred on Earth. British physicist Lord Kelvin and others jumped on Pasteur's bandwagon and suggested that life might have come from space.

Possible Martian bacteria fossils in a meteorite found in Antarctica. The rock, by keeping its cool, could have sustained life during its travels.

For me this is a real possibility,i know what the post means in terms of us being martians...BUT we already are martians when you think about it right.Ok there is no doubt for me alien life,intelligent,probably much more than ourselves,which wouldnt be hard mind you exists in the universe....anyways what would WE humans be to them....ALIENS....so already WE ARE ALIENS..in this sense. :?:

I watched the movie Red Planet this week and the concept in that was that a highly advanced alien race from mars seeded Earth with their genetic make-up...it was interesting.
Who knows huh....we always have more questions these days than answers... :bang;

I think its possible that life did just suddenly pop up on this planet, especially if you consider the planet couldve been in a situation where it had no tides in its past - something happened huge disaster knocked the earth into a different orbit and the moon starts to pull differently upon the earth and causes tides to start. Its probably due to the tides that life began to form, so this way life couldve just suddenly appeared. (although i do like panspermia cool idea)
