Richard Pryor was one of the writers of this movie and wrote that line.

As long as I have a morphine drip, a TV remote and can reach the extension cord on my oxygen pump, I have free will and a god damn choice!

Basically, are we in control of our lives? We think we are, act it out, yet we are accountable to "the Man". Do the backtracking here. Most of it financial, cause we all have to live and all have to pay. Everything we survive on is based on money...Everything, really. This is my belief. I love movies. This existence feels like a movie to me; sometimes it's feels well-written and directed and seemingly meaningful, other times it feels like a 1 and 1/2 star adventure that I've seen before, and I already know the stupid ending...
