My quarrel is not so much with GOD as I do believe in a higher power beyond my capabilities, so I refer to whatever that force (that which is the greatest and created everything) as GOD.

My quarrel is with a Jesus of Nazareth, and certain (if not Most) parts of the bible which seem to take previous folklore and scripts and use it for there own book of Religious wisdom.

Last time I checked that was plagiarism and makes the rest of the book totally voidable by default, however it is the parts of the bible and how they interpret it is what Intrigues me most, because they are re telling a previous tale and a consistent story ( by many different tribes of people / Egyptians, Sumerian's,Mayans, Aztecs, Native Americans) they all seem to tell of some force that came down from the heavens.

along with misinterpreted artifacts, and current UFO sightings and there is your answer to where our story comes into play..

of course this is strictly my opinion, and just a theory.

however who created everything? Thats anyone's guess.

I have a theory for that as well, but that's too much.

no question Wolf - thanks for noticing.

I believe that at the extent of our evolution, we will see God - but never be on the same page.

Some sort of all powerful creative mind. The religions have all put that into a box - and it pisses people like Jet off. I am okay with the idea. I am also okay with the idea of a redeemer - as I have stated I am Christian many times.

But if we're going to get to the truth - I think we have to ask the scientific and spiritual questions at the same time - and allow the 2 to coexist - as science, ultimately is searching for a God. And God, speaks to people individually. In time - the 2 will meld.

Well said Jet...I would be interested to hear your theory of everything...Considering the people who wrote the bible didn't know what a germ or a molecule is ( or even that the earth is round ) I think you are in a better position to make a prediction or hypothesis on this subject than they were.
Compartmentalization seems to be the buzzword lately to describe how seemingly intelligent people are able to say they believe in christianity.
Prof. Richard Dawkins believes religion to be a form of child abuse. If you are born in Iran you are Muslim, that same child born into a christian family would turn christian, that same child born into atheism an atheist...etc.
Just a guess...Spock was born into a christian family. Were he not abused as a child, he may have developed a mind less prone to fanciful ideas of punishment and redemption.
