That makes some sense as far as planting and harvesting for food. But how does that qualify as work? If one has to plant his own food and harvest it I would call it a part of life not work.

Exactly, she was quoting scripture. She did not say "if anyone can not work, neither shall they eat." She said "if anyone will not work, neither shall they eat." Big difference and you guys know it.

It simply means that those who are unwilling to work, not unable to, doesn't deserve our support. I happen to agree.
