and that's why when I lived in maryland I tried to avoid baltimore at ALL costs. When I was in DC I asked a cop for directions (in tears because we had detoured for about 4 hours by then) and he basically kept going on tip-toeing the line of sexist-ranting at us for being stupid--not much help at all in the end.
