The report that 1,430 Anti-Aircraft rounds were fired at unidentified objects over Los Angeles, California, early the morning of February 25, 1942 - approximately two and a half months after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor - never has been seriously challenged. What's new in the story is that five "leaked" and formerly highly classified documents trace the beginnings of a reverse-engineering project of non-terrestrial craft back to that 1942 event, which has come to be known as the "Battle of Los Angeles."
According to the documents, two U.S. presidents were aware of the top-secret project. One memo provides evidence that U.S. military had recovered two craft believed to be of "interplanetary origin," prompting investigation of War Department files for evidence of any other such craft. The documents also indicate existence of a "Special Committee on Non-Terrestrial Science and Technology" and imply strong government interest in supporting study of non-terrestrial biology and physics.

'Leaked' documents shed new light on outcome of 'Battle of Los Angeles'
By Robert Wood
Converted for all to see
In 1984 a series of documents were leaked to the UFO community in the States, and thousands more surfaced until 1997. Collectively they have been called the Majestic Documents. There have been debunkings of some of the main documents, citing errors in style and anachronism, but the body of evidence is still hotly disputed by the interested parties.
(HERE http://www.majesticdocuments.com/index.php) essentially outline a highly secret committee of 12 scientists and military leaders, instituted by President Harry Truman. The document trail starts 3 days after the 'Battle of LA' in 1942 with Frankelin D Roosevelt writing a memo to General George Marshall in which he promises "the Army will have the fruits of research in exploring further applications of this new wonder." However, the trail really starts to blaze after the now infamous Roswell incident in 1947.
Truman allegedly set up a committee to study and gain technology from the crash. The committee, contained people like General Hoyt Vanderburg, Dr Vannevar Bush and General Nathan Twining all of whom have well-documented links to official white UFO research. For example Vanderburg was responsible for the investigation into the Ghost Rockets over Norway in 1946 (which he claimed were rockets from Peenemünde, even though that facility had been closed in 1945).
The documents were released after the last of the purported members died, but the question still remains: is there an exceptionally powerful committee of people who have access to some of the most explosive technology on earth. And why are they withholding it?
With Cold War tensions rising in the 80's, could these 'leaked' documents have been a massive case of misdirection? Who would be most frightened of the technology?
