I learned a lot of him. After his first film came out, martial arts schools in our country were flooded with people who wanted to be as him.
Later I found out about the spiritual side of him, pity that he died so young.
What I liked most about his 'system' was that it was dynamic, adjusting to the experience and that there is only one fight, the fight against yourself.
One citation :
7 “feeling exists here and now when not interrupted and dissected by ideas or concepts. The moment we stop analysing and let go, we can start really seeing, as a whole. There is no actor or one being acted upon but the action itself. I stayed with my feeling the—and I felt it to the full without naming it that. At last the I and the feeling merged to become one. The I no longer feels the self to be separated from the you and the whole idea of taking advantage or getting something out of something becomes absurd. To me, I have no other self( not to mention thought) than the oneness of things of which I was aware at that moment”

“Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.” - Bruce Lee.
