Fox News disclosed that it has reviewed a classified cable that shows American officials in Benghazi, Libya urgently requesting the State Department for additional security less than a month before the attacks that killed four Americans..

According to the secret cable, American personnel in Libya convened an "emergency meeting" less than a month before the Sept. 11 attacks because Al Qaeda had training camps in Benghazi..

n Aug. 16, a senior security officer did not believe the consulate could be defended against an attack. The U.S. Mission was also concerned due to the known presence of "hostile terrorist forces" in the area..

Here are excerpts of the Benghazi security assessment obtained by Fox:
"RSO (Regional Security Officer) expressed concerns with the ability to defend Post in the event of a coordinated attack due to limited manpower, security measures, weapons capabilities, host nation support, and the overall size of the compound.
The classified memo was addressed to the Office of the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Additionally, Obama administration officials was briefed "on the location of approximately ten Islamist militias and AQ training camps within Benghazi ... these groups ran the spectrum from Islamist militias, such as the QRF Brigade and Ansar al-Sharia, to 'Takfirist thugs.'"

This document contradicts the White House's earlier claims that the deaths were a result of a random demonstration fueled by an anti-Islam YouTube video. Here is YouTube footage of several administration officials blaming an internet video.

On Thursday, Washington Post Charles Krauthammer accused President Barack Obama of withholding information on the Libya attacks until the election is over in order to minimize political damage
