Yes, humans love to build giant statues to their current god(s) - this one was for Ramses II (ancient egyptians were told that their King was a 'God') and he had four of them!

So in a few thousand years maybe, the giant staute of the Christ will be in a history book/disc/crystal ball etc., probably a little in ruins, with some future version of myself posting it's picture in answer to some post about the gigantic new statue of the 'current' God (if religion still exists!) called 'Ackmed The Enlightened one' and pointing out how religions and gods come and go, and come and go, each one of course, was the 'True faith'.......................

Didn't the Taliban blow that shit up?

BTW, I always trip on seeing a Jesus figure with the face of a Marvel Comic hero.

That was the Buddha statues in Afgan, over 3000yr old if I remember right. Such a shame to see.

I was so sad to see those Buddhas destroyed. Why do so many religions have to destroy anything that they don't agree with, I guess is the eternal question. And how sinister does Jesus look all white like that with those vacant eyes and that stern expression? Something about that statue just kinda creeps me out, and I have a house full of saints/Jesus/Mary that I've been collecting for years, so usually I find such things beautiful.

Like at any moment he could come alive and run amok, like the Sta-Puff Marshmallow Man. Only not cuddly.
