if you've ever seen someone do the similar "toss the baby up" thing, you can see the overwhelming sensation in them when they're in the air. Their eyes open wide up and they get all "whoa" laughing like, so that has to have some effect inside from the baby alone trying to understand at that moment what the feeling is.
Kind of like crack for babies.
