I saw those too on skymap and in the very least I assumed that they were rapidly moving objects that became lines during camera exposure.

Orbs have compressed energy, I think it is a possibility that the remnants of UFO or even warehouses where you can recharge.

That's an interesting theory if I understand correctly, sorry my English is not always that good.

Maybe they are some giant alien pipelines which you go through and your ship is fueled again.
