I have contacted English Heritage Archive to see if there are more of these types of photos...

Below is a copy of the email I sent....

Dear sir/Madam

I have been researching crop formations for a number of years and one of the biggest stumbling blocks when trying to show skeptics that the formations have been around for many, many years before the hoaxers, is the lack of aerial photographic proof before the wide spread use of heavy farm machinery.

I was wondering what the cost would be for a search of of your archives for any such prints and for copies to be made (preferably in PDF format). I know that is a photograph of the East Kennett long barrow with what appears to be two circles in the field adjacent, taken in 1953. I am predominately looking for such evidence pre-1960.

Your help in this matter is eagerly awaited and very appreciated.

Regards

This has been posted before, but it's relevant.

I have received a reply from English heritage, and the cost is somewhat prohibitive for me.
Below is the email I received in return....

Thank you for your enquiry concerning aerial photography.

To keep things manageable we can only search on one site up to a maximum area of nine square kilometres (9km²), for any single enquiry. If the area required is larger, or the request is more complex, or has more than one area, then it may be possible to conduct the search; however a Research Fee (currently £45.00 + VAT per hour) would apply. To keep the search within our free search service, please could you let me know which smaller area you require (for instance a six digit Ordnance Survey national grid reference for the site, or a map clearly showing the shape and size of the area to be searched).

In most cases our collections cover the period of the early 1940’s to late 1990’s. I cannot guarantee that the images will show what you are looking for, as in many cases the sorties flown were to achieve blanket coverage and not to photograph a particular event or area.

Once we have completed our search you will be sent a computer listing identifying the relevant aerial photography. This listing gives the dates, scales (vertical photography only) and grid references for the photography, and will be accompanied by explanatory sheets. An appointment to view up to 200 prints can then be made by giving us at least 8 working days notice. If you are unable to visit Swindon, photocopies may be supplied subject to copyright restrictions and the appropriate charges.

If you would like to discuss our services please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

So, If anyone has any known locations we might be able to get a free search done, but the likely hood is slim, And I'm not really willing to fork out £54 per hour (inc. VAT) at this moment in time..
