but about the servers being down due to outages... it does sound cliche
very well could be a cover up for something ... no images from anyone else? all i can confirm is that its hotter than a fire cracker here on the east coast and i cant access the servers either
guess we all just need to stay alert
I am in Philadelphia and its the 5th straight day of 100 degree temps. I got thrown off here because my internet went slow earlier...
Strange shit is happening with the weather...
Hey guys,
I was able to see this site:
http://sohodata.nascom.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/data_query_search_movie
I did a query from the first of june to today on the EIT 284. I don't know anything about this stuff but on the 21st the sun goes black? What am I looking at? From what I was able to gather the EIT enables a better detailed image of the surface of the sun correct? Sorry for being such a noob.

Here are two images I did get a movie screen cap and will upload that in a bit.

Nice post.
I am not sure if what I am going to post will help or even if it is related. But it is all I have at this time.
There does seem to have been some activity today. Some monitoring does work. But as you all know lots do not. Here are a couple items I have found.
One explanation...
another...

Source: http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/alerts/timeline_desc.html
finally

Source: http://soho.nascom.nasa.gov/soc/keyholes.txt
Now keep in mind whom the sources are. But the goes video does seem to show what seems to be a few nice sized events. Also t5hey are Earth pointed. As far as Earths footprint and other data I do not have.
I have been away at Summerfest the past couple days so cant spend to much more time on this. I am off tomorrow and will see what pops up then. Keep on researching you just never know.

page 3 of this thread. The EO website is not in service due to the extensive power outages in the Maryland/DC area. We'll be back when the power returns!

ALERTS appear for X-ray Flux >=M5 and over the course of Proton and K-index events, due to the rules that govern their issue. Since Proton events may be long-lived, CONTINUED ALERTS follow the initial alert near the beginning of each UT day, for the highest threshold in effect when such events remain in progress. Lower K-index values (K= 4 and 5) only require the issue of one initial ALERT per a corresponding valid warning period. However higher K-index values (6 and above) require an ALERT for each synoptic (3-hour) period they are observed, regardless of corresponding warning periods.

finally
ESTIMATED DATES OF FUTURE SOHO KEYHOLES
Note: These dates may change slightly and are only to be taken as
guidelines for e.g. scheduling of observing campaigns etc. Please contact
the SOHO Science Operations Coordinators in case you have questions.
In general, for each keyhole, data losses will almost certainly occur
between the last and first full days of high rate on 34m stations (i.e. the
"34m keyholes"). Data losses are less likely (but cannot be excluded) in
the adjacent "26m keyholes" (between last full day of high rate on 26m and
last full day of high rate on 34m, and first full day of high rate on 34m
and first full day of high rate on 26m).
Note: DSN decommissioned its last 26m antenna in early August 2009. On 14
August the SOHO High-Gain Antenna (HGA) Z-axis was successfully moved from
-18.55 to -16.7 degrees to shorten the keyhole durations. Since no 26m
antennae are used any more, the previous 26m keyhole period is now in
effect "DSS-27 keyhole".
