I hate GLP. I didnt accuse you or Shemagh of anything, I saw this picture on the front page of the largest newspaper here in sweden, a non religious country! By connecting the resignation to the lightning they are entertaining the idea that a catholic god exist, cause thats what they are suggesting, there is no other way of seeing it, lightings and gods you know that are things that we are manipulated to think go hand in hand, I dont want the catholics to be entertained.

Imagine a cow walking up to the front door of the vatican on the resignation day and releasing a massive diarrhea squirt on the door step, would that be suggested to be a sign from god?

Ok, but can lightning also be a pagan symbol? It is a godly symbol, but not necessarily Catholic. From a pagan perspective, for example, that lightning was an omen and we would call a priest or a shaman to tell us whether it was a good or a bad omen. No?

Did the newspaper, as a modern high priest interpreted it as a sign from, let's say the Catholic god?

Yes, everything about all the variations of judeo-christian beliefs derive from pagan beliefs. But in our society today that is pushing smart-phones and smart-tv (aint that a contradiction) as the climax of civilisation I dont feel that there is any need to give this resignation any room in any news anywhere when there is real stuff happening. The vatican and all its inhabitants, its just a make-believe world, they are running around in fancy dresses and performing rituals, anywhere else in the world it would be seen as a cult but there its perfectly normal.

I just read the title of the newspaper, "a sign?" they didnt say god but its implied, I was like wtf, but then on another day they can do a 180 and dismiss people who have seen some light phenomena as ufo-nuts seeking attention. But of course we have the freedom of religion laws here, and the flipside of that is that no one can question or say anything bad about any religion without fear of legal consequences because religious people along side with minorities and homosexuals are the most easily offended people around.

I say ban relgions, and homersexuals. Atleast the attention whores in pride parades, the other ones are cool.

Pope to remain 'hidden' after leaving Vatican
Successor to Benedict expected to be chosen 15-20 days after he steps down Feb. 28
Pope Benedict XVI told priests today he will "remain hidden to the world" after he leaves his post as leader of the Roman Catholic Church at the end of this month.

During a meeting Thursday with priests and clergy of the Diocese of Rome at the Vatican, Benedict said although he was retiring to a life of prayer, "I will always be close to all you and I am sure all of you will be close to me, even though I remain hidden to the world," Vatican Radio quoted him as saying.

Benedict shocked the world on Monday when he announced his decision to quit on Feb. 28, making him the first pope in centuries to step down. The 85-year-old Pope said he was no longer physically up to the demands of leading the church.

A successor to Benedict is expected to be chosen 15 to 20 days after he departs.

Benedict's unscripted remarks Thursday could be taken as his way to put to rest any concerns of what having two living popes could do to unity in the church.

The Vatican has already said he will not have any influence on the church after he departs his post. He plans to live in a converted monastery after spending time at the papal summer residence immediately after he leaves the Vatican.

Also Thursday, the Vatican issued a denial that a cut to the head suffered by Benedict during a 2012 trip to Mexico contributed to his decision to step down.

The Italian newspaper La Stampa reported Benedict hit his head and that it was bleeding after he got up in the night during his stay in Leon, Mexico.

Vatican spokesman Rev. Federico Lombardi said the incident "was not relevant for the trip, in that it didn't affect it" or the Pope's decision to step down.
