Not to bring politics into this post... sorry if this "inspires" some of the Obamatites to post... but....

Britain is talking "pokers" and "knives"... to defend against a mob of "burglars" (i.e. mobs/protests are the reason behind the statement)...

Now, think about this... our current administration is putting a lot of energy in figuring out ways "around the 2nd Amendment"... to remove guns from citizens... while I might understand the concept of "get them away from the same people who might end up rioting"...however...I guess I would rather end up in a scenario where if we have to defend our homes we would hear:
"Use your shotgun, pistol, rifle, or whatever means you need to defend your property."
as opposed to:
"Yeah...your kitchen knives or fire pokers...yeah...use those against the mob of protestors screwing up your property."

Uh... I would rather take my chances with the guns I currently own thank you very much!

I quite agree.
Britain has become a very violent place; and the police cannot be relied upon to protect people and their property from disgusting malefactors, who wish to do harm to others - or steal their property.

I am all for have guns introduced as a means of protecting ones self, family and property.

I have even contemplated obtaining one illegally, as I see a lot of trouble ahead.
