Like you Jet, I posted in haste and you are correct about the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act adding to the 2009 budget. It was about a 1/3. So when all is said and done Bush's budget deficit was right at the trillion dollar mark, apprx 1.1.

That being said, Romney's little picture is 100 % accurate. But I will agree that it is a touch misleading in the fact that Bush and Obama share the 2009 budget. He is portraying it as being all Obama.

Like you, I'm definitely not giving W a pass on his spending. But when you look at the massive amounts of money we are talking about and the CBO says it estimates the amount of money that was added to the 2009 budget due to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. I think 100 billion dollars or so is within the threshold of error for how recklessly our government handles and spends money.

The fact remains. How many Trillion dollar budget deficits has there been in the 4 years since Obama took office? 4
