You religious types are nothing more than bullies for YOUR God. To tell someone to shoot themselves in the head does not seem very religious to me. Why should we shoot ourselves? Why not the other way around? That was as far as I got in your link and decided it was more about you trying to prove yourself to us, then trying to prove the presence of a God.

thats funny because every atheist on here sure as shit rips into a religious post as well ..and im talking rude and crude comments ,ok fine you dont believe but to say crude things about someones religion or post stupid jesus cartoons is childish and really shows the character of the poster ( by the way i am generalizing here not saying one particular person) perhaps its out a deep seated fear that atheists might be wrong and therefore are lashing out defiantly ,by posting tripe so we all can have a good laugh .well i say take a look at what is posted then make up your own minds instead of bashing..reflect. myself i am spiritual and dont lay claim to knowing anything about god or atheism and i sleep pretty damn good at night . lol and no this is not a rant but an observation on what has been going on here as of late

This thread was designed to rip into Atheists. This was targeted towards us. I do agree with you that SOME Atheists do post inappropriate content, but to say every Atheist on here does is unfair. Normally I just skip over the religious threads, but this one was meant to piss people off. It should not even be here. It should be listed under religion. OP put this post where he knew the most people would read it.

I see that your argument (observation) is nothing more than you using my own argument (observation) against me. I see it all the time. "If you can say this about me, then I can say the same about you."

I'm glad you sleep well at night. I'm happy you have spirituality. It does not make me happy that OP has basically declared war with this thread and started a never- ending argument between people who would IRL probably get along just fine.

I hold to my observation that OP is a bully and was looking for a fight.

I've read many posts on this topic it's sad the comments that are made. I'm not going to bash anyone, Just want to reveal what's happened to me. When I was growing up I was raised as a Christian I got so fed up with it that I said these people are fanatics leave me the hell alone. However When I was 21 is when I had an experience that was so powerful that it changed my total outlook on life. Normally when people mention God,Jesus, Holy Spirit they automatically assume it's religion. Thats so far from the truth. If I was to ask. If you have a relationship with your mother, brother, sister, Father would you consider that to be religion, what would you say? I beleive you would say no it's not. When I had the experience it made me understand that it's not religion that one seeks it's the freindship relationship between the Father Creator in heaven and you can have that. And when you do have that experience you realise that you want your freinds to experience that as well not religion but something so powerful that when you have that experience you never be able to deny God, Jesus, Holy Spirit existance and relation thats amazing. I have to say I'm blessed bc he's the one that has revealed himself to me. So for the atheist open your hearts not with pride arrogance but humility and you will see. As far as the bible it's just a book to guide you that you may experience him directly. Not religion, relationship between Father and son / daughter thats what I have.

Everyone can have that if they want it, Im no better than anyone. It's a choice, I'm not telling you that life is gonna be easy full of roses but you will know the truth. It's something personal when you are by yourself in privacy just call out to him let him know that you want to get to know him ask Jesus in your heart and accept him as your savior that you may have a relationship with him. Ask him in your life. Yes I've been blessed and thats why I share this. That you and everyone else may be blessed. I gain nothing you do, if you choose wisely. Test him ask him in your heart I promise you If you want to experience him and get to know him you will have it.

lol i was generalizing and didnt make mention of any one atheist they have their reasons for believing in what they want , it doesnt matter to me , perhaps i should have clarified i was not lumping every atheist in the mould . my apologies to those that took that the wrong way, but as to the pics and cartoons , its a little bit controversial , and im not eve n a christian but it its unecessary . and finally . i was making an observation of a trend on the site as of late .. lol i was not competing with you .its not he said this so i am going to counter with the same argument . sorry if my meaning got misconstrued .i dont play the he said ,she said games . i really do take fairness into account when i comment , lol well i try to

The Religionist vs Atheist is an old and 100% Ego driven argument.

If either side was to grow up and put their big boy pants on (that was an awesome statement Hesop, I had to steal it) then they would realize the other side not believing in the same thing is not a threat to either side.

To the God folk, if there is truly a God of all Creation do you really think He cares if you want to pretend he doesn't exist? If He exists then folks will find out one way or another. The best you can do is to try and help and you wont do that by judging them.

To the Atheists, if you are right then what do you care if some crazy folk spout off about some old man in the sky? Why do You need them to believe as You do? I thought Atheism is all about self-determination so why do you need them to know there is no god as far as you are concerned?

That is the thing about Spirituality folks, we define it ourselves. For me, the beliefs of others matter not to me. I listen and pay attention to them and maybe...just maybe some of it may make sense to me but rule number one for me is my Beliefs are Mine. I don't care for folks telling me I have to believe everything they tell me Or Else.

To those who feel the need to follow the crowd due to you being terrified by some possibility that has been sold to you as an absolute, well that is your choice but always remember that you have a choice. Will you be strong enough to realize that?

I'm paraphrasing here from a two hour discussion by Dawkins and others, but religion has a way of inhibiting the scientific advancement of humanity. Not true 100% of the time (one can point to Islam's advancements, for example), but lately it is looking more evident.
