I haven't seen anything to indicate that aliens come to us in physical form. You can't shoot them or kill their bodies. So, they've found workarounds to our hostility.

intelligent sentient lookin ones.

ones that we wouldn't even recognize as being aliens.

and those that have technology that might supersede us by only mere hundreds of years.

surely something very well could have crashed, maybe it was an astronaut from a different planet, and it was the ONLY time we had such an event.

I won't speculate, but anything is possible, and the evidence that we have visited by something is pretty obvious in some circumstances.

From what I have seen in testimonies, superficially, it's not that they do it on purpose. Your missing the major factor: there's likely to be some truth in movie fiction Man in Black, see it if you haven't; there is good likely conflict on going in defense of our world; in fighting among the sects, Mayan descendants or other.
