Man created religon to control man. The church supressed our past in order to maintain complete control over it's sheep. We had a tremendous past and knowlege of things we have not yet recovered.
Pretend you could create spiders, fish, eagles, deer, man etc. Would you tell the souls you created "Worship me OR BURN GNASHING YOUR TEETH FOREVER IN HELL" I don't think any of us would do that! So why would God?
If you must believe in something how about Universal Conscienceness. Their are other planes of being or even sences. There are ghosts, ESP and other stuff. But the worlds religons frankly are a joke!

From what I've seen...It seems people tend to unload their drama ....your obsession to pleading your case ...and then...BECOMING offended because some don't agree with their view's of "What the fuck ever" remember the keyword here is DISCLOSE ....get the fuck over yourself....fuck your ego......like said..this is the internet, and there are better things to do in life then.................Consuming yourself with drama on a website and waiting for it to all end..while typing?

Let me restate that then, This is what I believe is the truth!

......there.When people preface what they are going to say with "what I think", and "in my opinion" it takes all the sting right out of it huh?Very few people are offended by another persons opinion.It is only when we dogmatically state that what we are saying is "The Truth" that we start ruffling the feathers of sensible people everywhere.In my opinion,truth can be told,but "The Truth" must remain to be found wherever it dwells within the unprovable depths of our hearts and minds.I can not "prove" God to you.And if I try to do so,you should feel wary and suspicious.I can share my experience of God if it will help you,but I should in no way assume that it is my duty or right to do so.
I will tell you something though.In my opinion the reason so many people get offended at the mentioning of God is that for thousands of years people have been told lies in God's name.People have been killed,tortured,silenced,fooled,sold down the river and basically bullshitted in the name of God.
I have found in my personal walk with God Who lives in my heart and mind,that the best,maybe the only way to share that peace with others is to live it by example.To be kind.Non judgmental.Honest.Forgiving.Charitable....These things are what I do to share my faith.In my belief I dont have to save anyone from hell because there is no hell.This world is close enough.I have found it much more useful to talk about the Spirit of Love,for I believe that is what God is.

P.S. ....Until I start walking on water...then all bets are off!!

Hi,not being snarky...just unsure as to what is allowed on DTV these days.Am I right to assume we can NOT talk about God or religion in our threads without getting deleted?And if so isn't it a little odd to have a Spirituality forum??

Anyone can talk about their 'Beliefs' on DTV, many talk about their 'beliefs' in Aliens, UFO's, Reptiles, Conspiracy Theorys and whether or not Santa exists and is he really Satan?

For centuries (and it's still happening with some 'beliefs' today) free thinking persons were persecuted, even tortured and put to death for not accepting some 'belief' or another, because it was the generally accepted practise of those times. Thankfully, in some parts of the world it's now different and some 'belief systems' have had to accept that their control over people's thoughts and idea's have ended.

Here at DTV, most are happy to be a member of a discussion forum that - for the most part! - allows open debate on many diverse subjects, some of which can draw heat for their passionate content without censorship or ban. Let's keep it that way.

When I use the forums here I keep a simple rule in my head - pretend I'm in someone's else's house having a discussion with other strangers, even if I disagree totally with what they say, as long as they treat each other with a little respect, they should be able to say it.

In a nutshell, treat other people with the same respect that you would want to be treated with.

That's me. back to my whisky and prowl the other forums.
