I am not trying to be antagonistic.. but can you tell fact from speculation and conjecture?

Many recent posts have been very misleading and I find myself posting many negative comments to try to help some of you differentiate between fact and theory.

'Asteroids wiped out the dinosaurs' because a scientist agrees it's the most plausible explanation. I agree.. but it is not fact!

'Brown dwarf'... I agree there may well be a companion brown dwarf in our star (solar) system. It pisses me off though, because nobody takes it seriously until it is shown on mainstream media.. and they state it as fact because it has been on TV.
I posted a thread on the WISE mission and what they may be looking for over 6 months ago and it didn't get one reply. Put it on TV and the forum is flooded. That is how much 'free thinkers' some of us are!

To end my rant, could posters please refrain from referring to the above to substantiate their theories as fact, and also stop using the word fact inappropriately. Thankyou
