Canadian Parliament Debates Zombie Apocalypse

The Canadian government has gone on the record about the zombie apocalypse. In an amazing exchange on the floor of the House of Commons today, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird was asked if he was working to "develop an international zombie strategy so that a zombie invasion does not turn into a zombie apocalypse."

New Democratic Party Parliament Member Pat Martin applauded the United States Center for Disease Control's emergency preparedness measures premised on a zombie outbreak and wanted to know how Canada would act to protect its citizens.

Baird assured the House of Commons that he was "dead-icated" to ensuring that the country would never be a safe haven for zombies.

I love my country, but this is embarrassing. Some people in parliament must have caught the new episode of the walking dead and thought it was news coverage

It's my understanding that the Zombie statement came from the US Government having a thought that if you are prepared for that as the worse case scenario then Tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, sink holes, etc. would be subordinate to that.

Instead of coming out and preparing for a Biological or Chemical attack why not prepare under the guise of Zombies? Would not fit both bills of preparation without stating any type of real world threat?

Or is Parliament practicing for appearances on the Red Green show on CTV?

I think they are metaphorically speaking when they mention zombie apocalypse's although it seems a stupid term, are they really talking about economic collapse, the break down in sociaty and the aftermath, i do think some can and will cannibalism if there is no available food, you never know what some are capable of in a desperate situation like that, see ones family die of hunger or try and feed them by any means possible, sounds real bad i know but how many post apocalyptic films have we seen where this playes out, book of Eli to mention a few

ffigured this belongs here... there has been A TON of activity like this, it's not so far fetched to think something bad could happen.... and if you put rabies into a flu-like virus, you could essentially creat a rage virus.... just saying, creepy
