'Cap and Trade Is Dead'---So declares Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe
The Wall Street Journal ^ | NOVEMBER 26, 2009, 9:48 P.M. ET | KIMBERLEY A. STRASSEL

The recently disclosed emails and documents from University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit compromise the integrity of the United Nations' global warming reports.
So declares Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe, taking a few minutes away from a Thanksgiving retreat with his family. "Ninety-five percent of the nails were in the coffin prior to this week. Now they are all in."

If any politician might be qualified to offer last rites, it would be Mr. Inhofe. The top Republican on the Environment and Public Works Committee has spent the past decade in the thick of Washington's climate fight. He's seen the back of three cap-and-trade bills, rode herd on an overweening Environmental Protection Agency, and steadfastly insisted that global researchers were "cooking" the science behind man-made global warming.

This week he's looking prescient. The more than 3,000 emails and documents from the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit (CRU) that have found their way to the Internet have blown the lid off the "science" of manmade global warming. CRU is a nerve center for many of those researchers who have authored the United Nations' global warming reports and fueled the political movement to regulate carbon.

Their correspondence show a claque of scientists massaging data to make it fit their theories, squelching scientists who disagreed, punishing academic journals that didn't toe the apocalyptic line, and hiding their work from public view. "It's no use pretending that this isn't a major blow," glumly wrote George Monbiot, a U.K. writer who has been among the fiercest warming alarmists. The documents "could scarcely be more damaging." And that's from a believer.

I think the cap and trade bill was faulty to begin with...What??...they (the government) were going to allow corporations to trade and swap "carbon emission" credits?? Oh...yeah...like that would work....Look at Wall Street...Those buggers can't trade anything and contributed to a huge portion to our current depression! AND most of the corporations in the U.S. are dishonest and borderline criminal...They break the rules every day...And they think the corporations would "trade fairly" with no chance of major f*** ups....Sounds pretty stupid to me...

Global warming or not...we have put all our eggs in one basket....the non-renewable resource basket

Listen to the Shawn Hanitty show sometime...the bumbass is railing for natural gas and how the U.S. has 100 years worth of it.....O.K. fine ...so we have 100 years worth of gas....then what?? What are my grand children gonna do when the gas runs out??

Oil, natural gas, coal...ect...all NONRENEWABLE!!!!! Yet we continue to extract and use it like it will never run out
Non-renewable...That means...when its gone...it would take millions of years for nature to make more...
So when its all gone...what are we gonna do then???

I live in Kentucky..we have one of the largest coal deposits in the world...only problem is...they have to level thousands of arces of forests and destroy thousands of moutain tops to get to it...by the time they are done harvesting the coal from KY, this state will be as flat as Oklahoma!

I think the U.S. should have converted to RENEWABLE resources long ago. The technology exsists to do it. Solar power, wind power, water power, advanced recyclying centers....hell...even nuclear power would be ok for a time till other technologies can surpass it..

I'm glad to see cap and trade get "thrown under the bus" .....its a Bull Shit bill anyway, rigged to fail and blow up in our faces!!!! :bullshit: :bullshit:
