Car Runs 1 Million Miles on 8 Grams of Thorium

In breaking news on the energy and technology front, Laser Power Systems, a U.S. company based out of Connecticut is developing a method of automotive propulsion using the element thorium to produce electricity. The results far surpass anything currently powering automobiles. To put it in perspective, 8 grams of Thorium produce enough power for a car to drive 1 million miles.

Thorium is similar in structure to the element uranium. Because it is an incredibly a dense material it has the potential to produce tremendous heat, and thus energy.

Charles Stevens, the CEO of Laser Power Systems CEO, explains that just one gram of thorium yields more energy than 28,000 liters of gasoline. Just eight grams of thorium, Stevens explains, would produce more energy than the vehicle could use in its entire life, without the need for refueling… ever.

Stevens explained in an interview with Ward’s Auto, that small pieces of thorium have been used to generate heat, being positioned to create a thorium laser in the vehicle. The laser heats water which produces steam, which in turn powers a series of “mini-turbines.”

The entire engine weighs only about 500 lbs and is light and compact enough to fit under the hood of any conventional vehicle.

Stevens and his 40 employees are now trying to answer the question of: “How do you take the laser and put these things together efficiently?”

The question is not, however, “if” they can get it to work, but “when” they can get it efficiently produced. When they do, they will have a vehicle that “will wear out before the engine. There is no oil, no emissions – nothing.”

Far from conceptual, this has worked in the thorium-powered 2009, Cadillac World Thorium Fuel Concept, presented by Loren Kulesus. Aside from adjusting this innovative model’s 24 tyres every five years, Kulesus explained that nothing else would need to be added to the vehicle, including fuel for more than a century of use.

What are your thoughts about this and other potentially thorium-powered vehicles? ... f-thorium/

How big is the explosion if you crash it? and how many people are you going to kill? O_o

yeah, I can just imagine a billion of these mini nukes driving around waiting for an accident.

And as if TPTB are gonna let us drive around in a vehicle that never needs refuelling, that aint gonna happen, they will probably sell the car for a reasonable price but charge you fckn thousands for ya little bit of Thorium.

we already have the technology to run cars on clean alternative fuels, but where has that gone, big corporations wont touch it until it can make them instant zillions, governments are too fckn useless to take the initiative and buy the patents and actually create cities which only use zero or very low emission vehicles

what is the dangers of thorium, is it like ok until it leaks out, and how deadly would it be if it did.

can thorium be altered or enriched to make weapons or other dangerous products, because if it is, or can be used for nefarious reasons, then fck that shit, anyway I like the sound and performance of a big v8.

if thorium is supposed to be so powerful, and cleaner and safer than uranium, why isn't it being used to make clean electricity right now, why don't we all have a little thorium box on the side of our homes making all the power we need without ever needing fcking meters and smart electric metres measuring how much power we consume and then have to pay for monthly to the big power companies, that send us the power from fckn miles away on big EXPENSIVE infrastructure net works and grids.

imagine how cheap power would cost us if all our homes were self sufficient, if they all had their own little inexhaustible power supply without all the INFRASTRUCTURE.

it will never happen even if it could, until TPTB can work out a way to make their zillions, and then it will just be another new bit of tech that we will all NEED coming from the big corporations that charge an arm and a leg for, gone will be the promise and excitement of a new clean cheaper fuel that will make all our lives much richer and healthier, providing us all with a brand new world full of exciting change and opportunity,........................nah fck that wont happen, if thorium proves usable it will be turned into a product we all NEED and will have to pay for and depend on and the big corps will keep lining their fckn pockets with our hard earned dollars, and in the mean time we will be exposed to new illnesses and problems that the power companies will deny is a result of their THORIUM...........................................................blah blah fckn blah, the world has seen all this shit before, promises of better, cleaner, cheaper and healthier life styles due to new discoveries and inventions, blah blah blah, while we have traditional governments and corporations, we the people will never see the full benefit of any new discoveries in any field.

Read up on Thorium.

You can NEVER make a bomb from it and it will not kill you with radiation.

The manufacturer will convince the US to invade Idaho ( ), and the Thorium will come free with the car. You'll never have to re-fill or re-charge ever again.

Well hell if Bill Gates says it's good it must be good right?

Sounds great but commercially it will never see light of day, the oil companies will see to that!

this would be probably lot better to generate electricity. imagine lot of these magnet motors constantly generating 120/240 volts and recharging your ups batt. thus powering your home, or vehicles
