Castro: US in checkmate over Iran

Former Cuban President Fidel Castro has said Washington is in a checkmate position with Tehran, reiterating the devastating consequences of any US threats against Iran and the danger of a global nuclear war.

Former Cuban President Fidel Castro
"The Yankees are in a checkmate, no matter how intelligent they are," Castro said at a meeting with Cuban journalists on Sunday, where he presented his argument about the threat of a nuclear war.
Castro stressed the destructive consequences of a nuclear war for the world, saying that nobody will survive after such a war breaks out.
According to Xinhua, he said that US President Barack Obama is the one who will decide whether a nuclear war will occur.
"He (Obama) has the constitutional power. He has the say. What he can ask for is only one thing, peace," Castro said.
In early August, Castro delivered a speech to the Cuban parliament to warn against US threats against Iran and the danger of a global nuclear war.
The former Cuban leader warned in the country's parliament that an attack on Iran could push the world to the brink of a "nuclear holocaust," which would take the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.
"If war breaks out, the current social order will suddenly disappear and the price will be infinitely greater," Castro said.
"Does anyone think the Iranians, a people with a culture of thousands of years and which is much more intertwined with death than ours, will lack the courage we have shown in resisting the demands of the United States?" the former Cuban leader asked.
On June 9, the UN Security Council approved a resolution, brokered and pushed ahead by Washington, which imposed new sanctions on Iran. The measure was soon followed by more unilateral sanctions by the US and the European Union, mainly targeting the Islamic Republic's oil and gas sector.
Iran argues that as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency it has the right to develop and seek access to civilian nuclear technology.
Tehran has downplayed the significance of the punitive measures and has vowed to stand up to the US and Israeli threats to strike its nuclear facilities.
Castro, who turned 84 on August 13, returned to public life on July 7 after four years of convalescence from a serious illness in which he handed over power to his brother Raul.

This old man has got a point. I think several country's are driving the states into a corner and Russia is participating with them, cold war is over, but what's happening now on the world stage.
Think of Iran, Venezuela and Russia!

My dear nickelson, it's always nice reading your posts showing you love knowledge rather than stupidity. Yeah, we are - as I read - spiritual beings having a human experience.
Regarding Castro let me say something.
I had a big sympathy for the devil. And I know a lot about the Cuban revolution.
!989 I was done with it. Castro killed General Ochoa, the last one from the former Che group. It is said that one big reason executing Ochoa is Castro's difficulties with Gorbachew's peristroika Ochoa was attracted to. (For short information see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnaldo_Ochoa).
Of course I assume that Casto will never love his old arch enemy USA.
But meanwhile this man kissed the boots of the pope. Ok, that might be considered a sentimental blooper of an old fart.
But that he now, together with Chaves, wants to play a peace angel - that makes me speechless.
I'll give no credit to that old murderer. I am really unable.

I Understand where you coming from and I must add I am not an American citizen and I do absolutely have no sympathy for Castro, his brother or Chavez, but what he is talking about is either propaganda or one can find a link to one and other,
Here's some rumours on which I cannot find any sources, rather than surfing the internet on forums like this one.
Chavez is NOW getting a Russian Weapons Factory built by Putin. The RUSSIANS are
building an AK-47Kalashnikov Assault Rifle factory in Venezuela, to give
armament support to Communist Rebel groups throughout the Americas . He
has now offered a Venezuelan island to the Russians for use as a
military base in the Western Hemisphere.
Chavez NOW has IRANIANS operating his oil refineries in Venezuela for him. It is
likely only a matter of time, if not already, before Chavez has Iranian
built LONG RANGE missiles, with a variety of
warhead types aimed at: Guess Who?
CITGO (Chavez) is NOW in the process of Changing Its Name to "PETRO EXPRESS" due to the loss of gasoline sales in the USA, due
to the recent publicity of ownership by Chavez of Venezuela.
Not knowing for sure if these rumours are true, but when they are true, together with the statements of Castro on the Bilderberg's last week and now this it is a bit peculiar don't you think.
What if the old man speaks the truth, what then?

So the European seems to care more about the US, than the Americans themselves.
Or do they know more than we do?
A lot of Yankees on this forum, but nobody seems to care about their futures or these rumours.
But oh well, maybe it is time for a global power shift and the USA should acknowledge they will be overrun by the far East and maybe their citizens are already aware of this upcoming event and they simply except. I don't know, all I know they're all a

Big question I have, will the USA accept their downfall?

Most Americans are asleep, and the ones that aren't have already figured out that this Empire's 200 years are already over.
I hate to say it, but I've all but thrown in the towel years ago.

Well your government isn't sleeping and their intelligence agency's are doing overtime, don't you think? What surprises me (and also not) is Russia pops up every time; they are participating in a lot of conflicts, not in the headlights, but in the shadow.
They just fuelled up a nuclear power station in Iran on which the generator could easily be used to fabricate the materials for nuclear bombs. The Russians also built the damn thing, after Siemens cancelled the job and after serious warnings from your government.
The Dow Jones is getting slapping once again and almost reaches the 10.000 points border, which is critical as you may know.
US civilians all are unhappy with Obama, all they seem to care about is the Mosque in New York and if Obama is a Muslim yes or no. Ridiculous I say.
You are being threatened by several countries who all work together with the same common goal; the downfall of the USA!
I can tell you this much. USA will never accept a downfall, they will yet again hit the red button and that will be it for you and unfortunately lots of us my friend.
The main reason they will hit that button and use the above as an excuse is all because of the world population number one addiction, MONEY! Besides that the world population on itself, which is growing too big and is causing starvation and bankruptcy.

Eh... You need to discriminate here... Russia/Venzuela/Cuba/Iran aren't after "the US". All of the rhetoric (and some actions, btw) coming out of Putin, Chavez, Ahmadinajed and Castro have been against the bankers and the Illuminati. It just so happens that the US is the face of the Illuminati. That's not to say that the American people are safe from Cuba's bombs or problems when all of these OPEC countries listed above decide to turn off the tap because they can afford to- because China can afford to buy up what the US doesn't.
