Yeah but without fur the animal can appear distorted as fur can give the dog a look of a much greater volume

I don't buy the dog with mange position because all these dogs appear to be the same exact breed. If it were just mange, wouldn't they all be different breeds.
There have been many of the animals being filmed in the southern/mid U.S. and they all look the same.
I'm wondering if it is a new species.
They should have taken it to a vet for identification, that would have solved the mystery once and for all - BUT NOOOOOO! Letting that creature go was as stupid as people walking in dark rooms in slasher movies.

No. I'm glad that they let it go. Some wild creatures in captivity like that will usually snarl, growl and look generally menacing. This animal- which looks like a species of hairless dog- didn't seem aggressive at all. Seemed pretty gentle. They did the right, humane thing, imo.
