Jane Houston Jones Reporting

Earth may pass through the dust trails of Comet 209P/LINEAR's past orbits, and predictions range from 100 to a 'stormy' 1000 meteors an hour. Also, great views of Saturn, Mars and comet PanStarrs (C/2012 K1) will be available throughout the month.

Thanx for the info Evil, just hope this one produces some sort of spectacle, we've had a lot of "fails" to date so I hope this will give me something to look at from southern parts of Australia.

A black-hole is not a hole it's a sphere. As will be the universe when compressed into the smallest unit it can be.

On May 24th, Earth will for the first time pass through a cloud of dust that comet 209P/LINEAR behind in the 1800's. Experts say it could rival the year's best Perseids shower, with up to 200 meteors per hour.

If you can’t get to a good viewing spot, you can watch the shower onscreen. NASA is hosting a live chat and video stream Friday at 11 p.m...

...and Slooh will be live-streaming the event on YouTube starting at the same time:
